Originally scheduled for the same day as the opening party of rival club, Ushuaïa Ibiza, on Saturday 28th May, Amnesia Ibiza has ignited a fire inside the hearts of clubbing fanatics from all four corners of the globe by announcing that it will be extending its summer by two weeks. With the date of the opening party being brought forward, the Amnesia opening party will now take place on Saturday 14th May.
This move will see Amnesia Ibiza host its earliest ever opening party in its history. The move comes following the announcement of so many opening parties around the same time as the original date of the Amnesia Ibiza opening party. Therefore, the San Rafael venue chose to provide themselves with some breathing room from other events by starting their summer a fortnight earlier than they had originally anticipated.
Line-up details are yet to be confirmed, but Amnesia Ibiza’s team has promised and assured that this year’s line-up will “repay this inconvenience in a way that you wouldn’t imagine” thus making up for those you may have already spent money on plane tickets specifically to experience the Amnesia Ibiza opening party.
If last summer’s opening billing is anything to go by, you can expect Amnesia Ibiza to have some of the biggest aces up their sleeve to date. The 2015 opening saw Maceo Plex, Apollonia, Betoko, Eats Everything, George Fitzgerald, Guy Gerber, Hot Since 82, Mart T, Richy Ahmed, Les Schmitz and Caas Smile all play their trade at this legendary venue.
Two more weeks of Amnesia Ibiza and a certified promise from the super-club repaying our inconvenience like we wouldn’t imagine? Sounds like the perfect excuse to book an earlier flight if you ask me.
