Bicep – ‘Glue’ [Ninja Tune] – 4th August
Recognised for unearthing eclectic musical rarities, Bicep are once again turning heads with their own take on a House music renaissance through their latest release on Ninja Tune, ‘Glue’. Paying homage to the music of the early UK rave scene, the London-based double-act of Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar bring in a fascinating take filled with entrancing and delicate values with a strong utilisation of a breakbeat.
Red Axes – ‘Sun My Sweet Sun’ (Konstantin Sebold Remix) [Permanent Vacation] – 4th August
Bringing in a heavyweight remix package of Red Axes’ 2016 Top 50 RA success, ‘Sun My Sweet Sun’, German spectacular Konstantin Sebold chimes into darker afro rave territories with a version of his very own. Finley furnished with a selection of voodoo percussions and a haunting bassline, this Permanent Vacation release comes accompanied with magnetising dance floor attributes throughout its duration.
Patrice Baumel – ‘Sorcery’ [Kompakt] – 11th August
A long running resident at Trouw Amsterdam, internationally renowned DJ and Producer, Patrice Baumel, landed on at Kompakt last month with his latest release, ‘Sorcery’. Fuelled with a sound consisting of limitless energy and a sense of adventure, his latest masterpiece is a definite dance floor weapon unleashing a Techno roller-coaster journey complimented by a fundamental percussion lead satisfying all areas of the mind.
Dario D’Attis – ‘Sunshine People’ [Defected] – 11th August
Making his hugely excited debut on Defected, the delightful Dario D’Attis gives us his own contemporary, uplifting spin on this impeccable House staple. Certainly a name on the rise in recent years, D’Attis treats the Defected faithful to a melodic summertime trip accompanied by plenty of bass jackin’ and dance floor friendly breaks.
Coyu Feat. Thomas Gandey – ‘1+1’ [Suara] – 14th August
Detailing a highly anticipated story surrounding the Big Cat, the debut single of Coyu’s debut album, ‘1+1’, sees the Suara chief team up with Thomas Gandey on a truly powerful and addictive piece. Explaining the connections between different components showcasing the communion between his two greatest passions, Techno and House, Coyu gifts fans with nine minutes of linear and heavy groove. This then melts with hints of an emotional piano creating the perfect summer record.
Basement Jaxx – ‘Rendez-Vu’ (Jesse Garcia Club Mix) [Toolroom] – 18th August
Up next is a brand new interpretation of an all-time Disco classic courtesy of the hugely talented Jesse Garcia. Originally released way back in 1999, ‘Rendez-Vu’ by Basement Jaxx took the global dance music scene by storm. The 2017 Club Mix falls right within the frameworks of the Tech House jugular with an off-beat, energetic bass line paired with some impeccable vocals and remarkable guitars from the original.
Sasha – ‘Trigonometry’ [Watergate Records] – 21st August
Following on from an excellent exclusive residency at Privilege Ibiza alongside the legendary John Digweed as a part of the Resistance world tour, Sasha has now made his debut on Watergate Records with his latest release, ‘Trigonometry’. Oozing both ethereal and compelling qualities, this belter continuously builds up the anticipation and excitement to the sublime break down as iconic chords captivate revellers everywhere.
Super Flu – ‘mygut’ (Solomun Remix) [Monaberry] – 25th August
Now in the midst of celebrating his fifth year as a resident at Pacha Ibiza, 2017 has proven to be another successful year in the career of Diynamic head-honcho, Solomun. In a summer which has seen him bless us with memorable remixes for the likes of Age Of Love and Jamiroquai, Solomun steps up to the remixing plate once again, this time for the splendid Super Flu. Providing his own take on ‘mygut’, Solomun reworks Super Flu’s recent ‘Musik 3’ inclusion into a gloriously anthemic dance floor moment for the ages.
Amelie Lens – ‘In Silence’ [Drumcode] – 28th August
One name that has emerged as quite the unstoppable force of Techno during 2017 is that of Second State regular, Amelie Lens. Delivering a tidal wave of Techno for party heads across Ibiza, her latest release titled ‘In Silence’ includes a consistent acidic bass line entangled with a calm female vocal before a more powerful and overwhelming bass line takes the lead for the latter part of proceedings.
Pig & Dan – ‘La Bruga’ [Drumcode] – 28th August
Identified as the creative geniuses behind ELEVATE, Spanish double-act Pig & Dan underline exactly why they are one of Drumcode’s most formidable acts with a mind-blowing contribution to the label’s newest edition of A-Sides titled ‘La Bruga’. Highlighted by a scorching topline and ripping low-end, this track illustrates Pig & Dan’s melodic tendencies and uncanny ability for peak-time arrangements.
