So unless you have been sleeping under a rock for the past month or so then you, like several other Ibiza enthusiasts, will have realised that 2015 the year of Ibiza Rocks and it’s highly anticipated 10th anniversary!
With a decade of incredible live acts, equally electric crowds creating an atmosphere to match and memories that will last forever, Ibiza Rocks has never failed to impress over the years allowing revellers to not only party from the dance floor in the open-air courtyard in front of the main stage but also from their balconies providing them with spectacular views of the live performances.
The San Antonio hotspot will continue such emphatic traditions throughout the summer of 2015 with it’s two regular weekly events returning this year. There will of course be W.A.R! commencing every Friday starting from Friday 5th June for the opening party and concluding with the closing party on Friday 18th September. Beginning slightly later than the W.A.R! proceedings, Ibiza Rocks will kick off their summer celebrations every Wednesday with the first show being held on Wednesday 17th June and finishing up on Wednesday 16th September.
Staying with Ibiza Rocks on Wednesdays, with a decade of delightful memories to toast to in 2015, what better way to get the adrenaline pumping through the veins of fans than announcing to the world the Ibiza Rocks 2015 line-up for of headlining, influential festival giants and stars who are up and coming, loaded with potential and are just waiting to burst out on the big stage. These include a mixture of big names like Rudimental, Sigma, Karen Harding, Clean Bandit and many more.
This summer’s Ibiza Rocks opening party is set to take the party capital by storm on Wednesday 17th June and looking to captain that ship in style will be the London electronic trifecta of Olly Alexander, Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Turkmen, more commonly known as Years & Years as they grace the Ibiza Rocks stage along with the fame duo making waves down in Bristol, Blonde.
One week later, revellers will make their way down to the open-air venue to play witness to the talented German female behind the record “Changes” – Sigma, who will perform on the same night as MTV Brand New 2015 ‘Best Newcomer’ hip hop and rap duo, Krept & Konnan. Shura and Jungle will then takeover Ibiza Rocks at the beginning of July.
Seven days prior to the 10th anniversary of Ibiza Rocks, the boys from Llandudno, Catfish & The Bottlemen, will return with their guitars in hand to the famous courtyard for the first time since supporting Jake Bugg last summer. Since then, they have gone on to be awarded the BBC Introducing Award at the very first BBC Music Awards.
Then on Wednesday 22nd July, exactly half-way through the Ibiza Rocks summer calendar, the main event the entire Rocks family have been waiting for in high anticipation will eventually take place. Guaranteed to set hearts racing and leave fans breathless, one of Britain’s most iconic rock bands, The Libertines, will takeover the reins of the celebrations with Slaves, hailing all the way from Sacramento, California, joining them in support.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any bigger, the night of the 10th anniversary will be followed up with a visit to the Rocks by Best Album BRIT Award winners Rudimental. Three years on from their Ibiza Rocks debut back in 2012, the boys are back this summer and you can have no doubts that they will be bigger and better than ever before. On the same night, clubbers get to experience London electronics star Sam Sure.
Outdoing themselves once again, Ibiza Rocks welcomes chart-topping sensations Clean Bandit to perform on their famous hotel stage on Wednesday 5th August this summer. After experience a lot of success with singer Jess Glynne, Clean Bandit will want to further exceed expectations at the Rocks this year. Supporting Clean Bandit will be fast-rising female singer and producer and the magical voice behind recent Top 10 hit “Say Something”, Karen Harding.
Having stole the show back in 1981 at the Ku Club, now named Privilege, the legendary Spandau Ballet look to tear down the curtain as they takeover the rocks one week after. They will be aiming to inject some of the clubbing culture they provided Ibiza with all those years ago and relive the memories along the way. Fatboy Slim kicks off September in style as he presents Ibiza Rocks’ very own Smile High Club aiming to give revellers the time of their lives as apart of this 14 week summer on the party capital.
Ibiza Rocks will then shut up shop on Wednesday 16th September but not before The Courteeners have shut down the entire stage, pool and hotel with their indie rock and roll shenanigans at the end of the season.
MTV will also be on hand for the third year running in partnering up with Ibiza Rocks and with Laura Whitmore as host, they will premiere six half-an-hour long artist specials and an hour-long competition.
With Ibiza Rocks set to rock the world harder than it ever has done in previous summers, the 10th anniversary summer promises to be their biggest yet.
