Interview with Glow In The Park

7 months ago by Matty Adams

We recently caught up with the promoters behind Glow In The Park and discussed the message they are trying to illustrate with this concept, how it originally began and their takeover of Benimussa Park on Monday 8th August.

First of all, what is the story behind the Glow In The Park concept and what message are you trying to portray with this Ibiza showcase?

We’re creating a space where both the serious clubbers and the people out for a great party can both mix and mingle. We’re combing a great concept and a theme with an amazing product and venue. The mission is to create a music festival in Ibiza which everyone can enjoy.

How did Glow In The Park first begin? What was the inspiration behind setting up this concept and why?

Originally, when we came together to create Glow In The Park, we wanted to pull together the UK’s leading House and Techno brands to create the best content possible whilst giving the brands a platform in Ibiza.

The brands involved are; Mansion, MASQ, Deseo, Frontline Presents, Covert, Muzik, Exit, Holi Garden, Empire.

Glow In The Park has held some memorable parties over the years in Ibiza. Tell us about some of your favourite Glow In The Park Balearic memories…

This is the start of the journey, our first Glow In The Park Ibiza show. However, the partners for the show have been putting events on for over 15 years now in Ibiza. These range from secret warehouse parties, premium VIP clubs to huge outdoor events.

On Monday 8th August, Glow In The Park will be transforming the abandoned zoo of Benimussa Park into a hedonistic paradise. Why did you select Benimussa Park as the venue to host this event at and in terms of production, dancers and decor, what can a Ibiza clubber expect from their Glow In The Park clubbing experience?

Production wise, we wanted to create an enchanted world which breaks from the norm. Another worldly atmosphere, with giant UV structures, tropical L.E.D performers, angle-grinders, stilt-walking neon fire-breathers, glow-bots, L.E.D balloon drops, firework displays and a lot of surprises!

You will of course be dividing Benimussa Park into a variety of different arenas welcoming some of the UK’s biggest brands including Covert Events MCR, Muzik Events, Frontline Presents, Papillon, Masq Liverpool, Mansion Liverpool, Deseo Events UK, Empire Level and EXIT. How did you go about your brand selection process and what do you feel these brands can contribute to Glow In The Park this summer?

We purposely chose established and credible brands as people can know what to expect with them, consistently great parties. However we wanted to create a platform in Ibiza for them.

There will be a host of San Antonio’s finest names appearing behind the decks including some of the rising talents featured on our “The Stars of Tomorrow” interview series like Josh Newsham, Emma Jai, Dale Nolan and more. Which set would you recommend us to check out the most and why?

The Seal Pitt and the Woodlands Arena or the Living Room Stage, as its often referred to, will play host to some super cool “Stars of Tomorrow” DJ’s. However, you can’t attend without checking the crazy goings-on at our Main Stage.

Finally, if you could host Glow In The Park at any super-club in Ibiza of your choice, where would you choose and why?

The Zoo is our ideal and chosen location. Originally, our plan was to have Glow In The Park in Benimussa Park and we’re thrilled to see it happen! That’s not to say they’re aren’t great outdoor venues such as Ushuaia etc.
