Newcastle native, Jacky, is launching a brand new record label called Jacky & Friends at the end of January.
Following a slew of successful outputs on the likes of elrow, Repopulate Mars and Defected, the Geordie finally steps out with his own imprint as a way of supporting up and coming artists and injected the fun back into the music.
The first EP on the label, titled ‘Uhh Ohh’, features four high grade dance-floor ready weapons, including two from Jacky himself. There is also two hefty remixes from the likes of Kreature and Huxley.
Deeply immersed in the scene, Jacky says: “I was finding so much amazing music from friends in the industry, and more importantly from new artists whom I had never heard of, that I thought it would be such a waste not to show this music to the world – the label is the perfect way to do this.”
Next month, Jacky will also embark upon a nine-date tour of Australia and New Zealand starting off at Prohibition in Brisbane, Australia on 1st February.
