With thousands of extra clubbers and tourists descending upon the party capital of Ibiza purely for a weekend of music showcased by the pinnacle of musical platforms – BBC Radio 1.
The Radio 1 Weekend celebrated a monumental milestone of 20 years on the White Isle in 2015 in extraordinary fashion over the course of three unforgettable days. In 2018, the Radio 1 Weekend will descend once again to Ibiza for one of the most sought after experiences in all of dance music.
BBC Radio 1 Weekend Ibiza 2018 will this year take place between Friday 3rd and Sunday 5th August.
Throughout its 20 year plus history, BBC Radio 1 Weekend has been hosted by some truly phenomenal venues! With a weekend possessing so much superstardom, such musical royalty deserves a structure worthy of hosting such iconic fortitude.
It’s no secret that BBC Radio 1 Ibiza Weekend has been hosted at some of the world’s leading venues in dance music. If we scale back through the years, revellers have been treated to weekends at the likes of Ku, Amnesia, Space, Ibiza Rocks, Ushuaïa and Cafe Mambo to name a few.
This year is no different as the BBCR1 crew begin proceedings at the iconic Cafe Mambo on Friday 3rd August from 7pm until 11pm. The familiar faces of Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Danny Howard taking the reins. There will also be performances from MK, Jax Jones, Eats Everything, CamelPhat, Patrick Topping, B.Traits, La Fleur, Cassy, Denis Sulta and Mella Dee.
ANTS have unveiled a BBC Radio 1 dance stage at Ushuaïa at 3pm on Saturday 4th August. On the bill will be Pete Tong back-to-back with Andrea Oliva, CamelPhat, Steve Lawler back-to-back with Nic Fanciulli, Solardo, Maya Jane Coles and Eli & Fur.
Ibiza Rocks Hotel will welcome BBC Radio 1Xtra for their debut White Isle showcase from 2pm on 4th August. This will be hosted by none other than Charlie Sloth, Dotty and DJ Target. They will be joined by MistaJam, DJ Charlesy and Sian Anderson. Illustrating the very best in rap and grime music, they will be accompanied on stage by the likes of Wretch 32, Bugzy Malone, Steel Banglez, B Young, Kojo Funds, Lady Leshurr, Lotto Boyzz, Nines, Not3s, Ray BLK and RAYE.
BBCR1 will return to Cafe Mambo to finish up what they started on the Sunset Strip on Sunday 5th August. Annie Mac returns to the fray accompanied by Monki and Benji B. Final day proceedings will also see sets from Mark Ronson, Cassius, Krystal Klear, Purple Disco Machine and Octavian as well as a special guest. This will run from. 7pm until 11pm.
Whilst complete line-ups are not yet confirmed, the entire BBCR1 dance family will be in attendance. This will include Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Danny Howard, B.Traits, Monki and more.
The BBC Radio 1 dance stage at Ushuaïa with ANTS will feature Pete Tong back-to-back with Andrea Oliva, CamelPhat, Solardo, Steve Lawler back-to-back with Nic Fanciulli, Maya Jane Coles and Eli & Fur.

BBC Radio 1 Weekend Ibiza is ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC! In terms of music, this weekend comes second-to-none on the Ibiza calendar. It is considered the pinnacle, be all and end all of weekends and one nobody wants to miss (basically, if you’re not here, you’ll be crying into your pillow over missing out on such an experience… yes, it’s that damn good).
Every year on the Friday, Radio 1 holds a “Free” party – which has recently been held at the Hï Ibiza complex.
The BBC Radio 1 Weekend Ibiza 2018 will be busy and is the most expensive time to visit Ibiza, but there’s a good reason for this. This is the week that all of the promoters put on the best DJs, every club, party and bar is full with an amazing atmosphere. This is when Ibiza truly is at its peak and is something to get involved in.
Last year saw BBC Radio 1 Weekend Ibiza 2018 take charge of the island’s latest clubbing institution, Hï Ibiza, for a memorable Friday instalment before moving on to Cafe Mambo Ibiza on the Sunset Strip for the remainder of its Ibiza stay. There was also a BBCR1 presence over at Privilege with Creamfields Ibiza and at Destino with Pete Tong and The Heritage Orchestra Ibiza Classics. Performances in 2017 came courtesy of Eric Prydz, Kolsch, Waze & Odyssey, Maya Jane Coles, Mele, David Guetta, Disclosure, Black Coffee, Gorgon City, Duke Dumont and Disciples.
Set to be bigger than ever in 2018, BBC Radio 1 Weekend Ibiza 2018 celebrates another year of everything positive in the dance music realm.
