24 Hours of Roman Hedonism – Tuesday 8 October, 2013

Sankeys has never been one to throw an ordinary closing party, and 2013 is, of course no different. With a world record attempt and 24 hours of on-point electronic music all wrapped up in Sankey’s hedonistic attitude – you’re guaranteed the party of the season.

The roman theme is the culmination of a full weekly roster of forward-thinking residencies at the Playa D’en Bossa club. But the closing party is set to be completely unique with a world record attempt to host the world’s biggest recorded toga party on October 8th 2013.

More info to follow on the mammoth closing party line-up, which continuing on the theme from last year, will include a few special surprises along the way.

Ellie Goulding, Dizzee Rascal, The Vaccines and Rizzle Kicks plus three of the hottest new acts around right now Redlight, Palma Violets and Jagwar Ma.

Carl Cox Returns to Space for 2013ddd

Carl Cox has announced his residency in Ibiza for 2013 and it’s no surprise that it’s Tuesday nights at Space!

After all, it is one of the longest-running, consistent and popular nights on the island and Space is the perfect home for Carl Cox and friends. 2013 promises to give many more memorable moments, new rising talent that are looking to make their mark, and it wouldn’t be the same without a few unique surprise appearances.

The opening party is confirmed for the 9th July 2013 and Carl Cox will be running 12 nights throughout the season and labelling them as “12 Nights of the Revolution – The Party Unites”. We’ll hopefully have full line-ups confirmed very soon. But for now, see our page on the Carl Cox Ibiza 2013 night.

Cream Ibiza confirmed for 2013ddd

Cream Ibiza is one of the island’s longest-running and most successful nights ever. With an un-interrupted Thursday night residency for almost 20 years, it’s little surprise that they’re back at Amnesia for this year’s season of events.

With the opening party confirmed for the 13th June 2013 and the closing party of 19th September 2013, Cream are promising 15 weeks of absolute carnage and great quality music.

Cream Ibiza sells out virtually every single week and for good reason too. It’s one of the most consistently good nights in Ibiza and we’re extremely excited to see who Cream’ve booked to play for 2013!

For more information on Cream Ibiza, see the 2013 promoter page.

We Are Rockstars. We are back for 2013ddd

In true IBIZA ROCKS fashion, they’ve announced some details for the 2013 season to get us through this cold and wet winter.

And this time, it’s the fact that not only is the highly-successful We Are Rockstars party back. But, it’s also gained itself a new resident act. None other than Example and DJ Wire. They will be playing a total of 5 times (Mostly July and one August date) at the Friday night party and also once in August for a full festival live concert on the Wednesday.

It’s great news to see information coming out already about Ibiza 2013, and we’re looking forward to seeing what else comes out in the near future. For now, make sure to check out the We Are Rockstars page for Ibiza Rocks.

Sankeys – 24 hour closing partyddd

Long has the Ibiza Closing party weekend consisted of Amnesia, then Space and finally DC10 before all the fun and games are finished for another year. But not this year. Sankeys are continuing the party with a huge two-part extravaganza with 24 artists and 24 hours of music by the biggest line-up to hit Sankeys this year.

David Vincent of Sankeys Ibiza claims “In all the years I have promoted club nights, in all the clubs around the world – Sankeys UK, Ministry of Sound, Pacha Ibiza and The Hacienda – I have never, ever promoted or been associated with a club event of this magnitude”, and he’s not kidding!

Part 1 of the party will welcome a line-up on the darker, more tech-oriented tip, with Tiefschwarz joining VIVA Warriors, Darius Syrossian and Louis Groove behind the dec, while Leftroom boss and Carnival regular Matt Tolfrey steps up alongside Fuse head-honcho Enzo Siragusa and Guti (Live), among others. In addition, three special guests will be announced on Sankeys Facebook page over the next few days (http://facebook.comSankeysIbiza)

If you’ve still got the stamina to tackle Part 2 of the epic closing party, you will be treated to the white-hot house stylings of Diynamic pair, Solomun and H.O.S.H, who will be playing back to back in the Sankey’s basement alongside Jackathon’s Heidi and man-of-the-moment Miguel Campbell. To a legendary Todd Terry, supremely supported by Cajmere and DJ Sneak. Not forgetting long-standing Sankeys Manchester resident, Ellesse. Part 2 celebrates house music in all it’s variant forms. Revered label Wolf + Lamb host proceedings in Spektrum, offering a contrasting sonic vibe with Soulclap, Baby Prince of Wolf + Lamb and more.

It’s clear to see that Sankeys have had an incredibly successful second year of business in Ibiza and I can only imagine that magic will be evident on the closing parties – expect this to match or even beat the big club’s in terms of atmosphere and fun.

Review: Cream Ibiza Closing Partyddd

It’s the closing party for one of Ibiza’s biggest and longest running parties. But can it really top an excellent season that’s seen some of the best DJs and artists play at Amnesia?

Well, yes… We arrived early to take in all of the atmosphere. We got into the club at 1 to see it relatively quiet – when I say quiet, I mean a few thousand people, but still plenty of room to move and dance. We were straight into the main room to see the end of Sean Hughes set which we thought warmed up the atmosphere perfectly.

For us, the best thing about Cream Ibiza 2012 was the inclusion of Gareth Emery, with 6 dates throughout the season – we shamelessly attended every single set. So it’s no wander we were excited for the next act of the closing party – Mr Gareth Emery!

He came busting out into the DJ set wearing his leather coat as normal, dropping a belter of a track that instantly electrified the crowd! By now the room had filled up loads and we were struggling to dance without bashing everyone around us. This didn’t stop us though. Gareth played a mixture of songs tonight, some of his classics and new releases infused with a few commercial crowd-pleasers. A highlight was his teasing of Calvin Harris in the next room by playing the start of his “Feels so close” song before mixing it into Gareth’s “Sanctury”.

Gareth was only on for an hour and a half before the headliner, Paul Van Dyk. Paul had been on an exclusive Cream boat party earlier in the day to raise money for the Ibiza Red Cross so had probably just got used to being on dry land before his last stint at Amnesia this season. He’d been delivered an enormous crowd which were more up for it than any other cream night. And he smashed it!

I’m not usually a massive fan of Paul Van Dyk, but tonight I thought he was amazing. His controlling of the crowd was immense and the song choice flawless. It wasn’t long before his classic “For an Angel” was dropped and the room ignited!

Next door, in the terrace it was absolutely rammed! You couldn’t move an inch upstairs in the VIP terrace, let alone in the main room where everyone was bouncing (Yea… I did just say that…) to Calvin Harris. The Terrace has been a massive part of Cream this year and the closing party took this to a whole new level!

Finally on the bill in the main room was Adam Sheridan, Cream and Carl Cox Revolution’s resident DJ. Starting at 5:30 he was on the late shift but surprisingly very little of the crowd had dwindled and the atmosphere certainly hadn’t! This party was going to go on fully until the lights go on and everyone gets dragged out kicking and screaming!

But alas, it’s time to go home. We’ve had the best time at a Cream Ibiza party ever but it’s still sad, there’ll be no more hands-in-the-air moments at Amnesia again for us this year. But it gives us something to look forward to next year…
