The Seven Wonders of Sankeys Ibiza are revealed for 2016

Just like almighty God himself creating the world inside a week, another God in the eyes of many, recognised to the party capital of the globe as the genius behind Sankeys Ibiza, David Vincent, created the perfect summer week by announcing the Seven Wonders of Sankeys Ibiza for 2016.

Looking to build on their success from last year when they had the Pioneer Pro Audio sound system installed, the Manchester original’s Ibiza heavy-hitting basement sibling will once again witness both The Basement and The LAB battle it out for the right to be labelled as the ultimate underground club’s main room. In addition to this, the aesthetically pleasing Spektrum will be capturing the attentions of many with its scintillating ceiling of LED lights!

For the first time ever, Sankeys Ibiza will be engaging in a six-month season in Ibiza as they look to change the landscape of the party capital and go against the grain of tradition by opening a couple of weeks early with their opening party on Sunday 1st May. The dance floor theatrics and irresistible sounds pumping out their famous VOID sound-system will of course continue right through until they close their doors on Monday 31st October which will culminate a three day Halloween Festival – pretty awesome eh?

That isn’t all either; we’re still yet to tell you about David Vincent’s Seven Wonders of Sankeys Ibiza…

Wonder number one of seven comes in the form of two  successes from Sankeys last summer teaming up together for one huge explosion of dance floor chaos each and every Monday night – Redlight and Shelter. Formerly taking place on Thursdays and Fridays respectively, this pairing will run operations in Sankeys from 23rd May until the closing party on 26th September with a total of 19 events. Redlight was a House and Garage success last summer having featured the likes of resident Matt Jam Lamont alongside Sonny Fodera, Philip George, DJ EZ and many more. Shelter provided a deeper and darker outlook on electronic music and was born from those behind W.A.R! at Ibiza Rocks.

Tuesday nights will welcome hip hop and R&B newcomer, Applebum, to the Sankeys helm. Determined to bring back the popularity of a movement that once shaped a generation with its sounds, fashion and lifestyle, Applebum will ensure the best beat creators and disk scratchers, including Jazzy Jeff and Grandmaster Flash, are in full-swing from when they open their doors on 28th June right through until when their season concludes on 13th September!

If that hasn’t wet your appetites enough already, then Wednesday nights certainly will! Sankeys Ibiza has stepped back in time to the golden years by ushering in Dance 88/89 for some vintage acid house for those hitting their dance floor this summer. With proceedings commencing on 25th May and finishing up 19 weeks later on 28th September, life inside the Balearic basement is about to get very exciting as David Vincent acknowledges the Halcyon days of Ibiza. Amnesia legend, DJ Alfredo, will pair up alongside Matthew Benjamin aka Bushwacka to bring the very best Balearic beats every single Wednesday. They will be joined by the likes of Danny Rampling, Nicky Holloway, Adamski, 808 State, Graeme Park, Todd Terry, Mr C and Fabio & Grooverider. This is one you can’t afford to miss!

Guess what? The fun doesn’t stop there. On Thursdays, Sankeys Ibiza will be hosting another new summer concept entitled Unusual Suspects for a total of 23 events from 12th May until 13th October. Sankeys Ibiza have experienced some great success with this particular event through the winter months having welcomed such big names as Stacey Pullen and Nicole Maudaber behind the decks as well as Craig Craig’s Detroit love Society. With a distinctive sound of groovy, bouncy, house and techno bass-lines, Unusual Suspects will become the Ibiza community’s first all year round party in over a decade.

Friday will see London favourites, ABODE; take to the Sankeys Ibiza stage. Following their success over the past few years in becoming the hottest Sunday party the English capital has to offer, ABODE have secured a 12 week residency at the underground kingdom of Sankeys Ibiza from 24th June until 16th September. Having booked such exciting names as Matthew Dear, Cassy and Flashmob, one can only imagine the types of names they will have ready to tear up the decks on Friday nights in Ibiza.

Tribal Sessions will encounter upon the longest weekly residency out of any event Sankeys Ibiza has to offer this summer with 26 events lined up every Saturday night. From 7th May right through until 29th October, the award winning brand known as Tribal Sessions will bring their heavy-hitting house, their titanic techno beats and their tribal paint all under one roof with an array of festival-sized line-ups from the electronic music scene. Alongside some very special guests will be exciting residents including Miguel Campbell, Jozef K, Manu Gonzalez and Adam Chappell.

Finally, the one temptation nobody on the island can resist on a weekly basis is back by popular demand, yes, VIVa Warriors returns to Sankeys Ibiza every Sunday night beginning at its opening party on 19th June for 15 straight weeks until its closing party on 25th September. Basement royalty in the form of Steve Lawler will be flying the VIVa Warriors flag high up above the dance floor and his tech house magic will ensure not a single person in sight will be standing still all summer.

In addition to this, David Vincent has also introduced Sankeys Sabados providing female DJs with the opportunity to strut their stuff behind the decks at Sankeys Ibiza at a free party running every week between Saturday 6th February and Saturday 23rd April. This will also present someone with an opportunity to win a worldwide residency with the Sankeys Group.

So with the Seven Wonders of Sankeys Ibiza now out of the hat, your plans for every night of every week of the summer are now planned – thank you David Vincent.
