Providing several bidding up and coming artists with a rare golden opportunity to help them realise their lifelong dreams of a career behind the decks, the stakes have now been raised as the final three contestants for the 2016 BURN Residency program have now been revealed – Mira Joo from Hungary, Ayman Awad from Austria and Lorenzo Gianeri, better known as Lollino, from Italy.
Now celebrating its fifth year on the White Isle, the three finalists of the 2016 BURN Residency program will engage in a ten-week long Ibiza residency in order to receive the complete support from BURN.
Guiding them through the latter stages of the competition will be BURN Residency’s mentor and judging panel. This features the likes of Philipp Straub, Carl Cox, UNER, John Digweed, The Mambo Brothers, Dubfire and David Vincent.
Having battled their way through 9,000 unique applications from 26 different countries to the final three slots in the competition, these three hopefuls have encountered upon quite the journey. Fending off competition from one candidate from each country over the past three weeks at the BURN Residency in the dance capital of the world, they have experienced lectures, mix-enhancing workshops, DJ master classes, production and performance challenges and much more. Guest mentors have included the likes of Luciano, Miguel Campbell and Jamal Edwards.
The next stage will see the three contestants get the chance to prove their worth by participating in a 10 week Ibiza residency at some of Ibiza’s most famous clubbing spots including Sankeys Ibiza, Privilege Ibiza and Cafe Mambo Ibiza.
The winner will receive €100,000 to help further progress their career. Previous winners include DJ Samanta last year who signed for Dubfire’s The Bullitt Agency and Javi Bora the year prior who signed for Safehouse Management joining both Carl Cox and John Digweed.
